Staff Senate Scholarship

Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible for this award, the applicant must:

• Have a completed FAFSA on file with the UNCG Office of Financial Aid by October 1, 2022.
• Be a resident of the State of North Carolina.
• Be a permanent full-time UNCG Staff Member with at least 5 years of service in the North Carolina State System OR dependent, spouse, or domestic partner of an eligible employee.
• Be enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNCG (Visions, Visiting, Auditing and some certificate programs are not eligible as they are not degree seeking programs).
• Remain a permanent employee of UNCG (dependent, spouse, or domestic partner of an eligible employee) during the time period for which the scholarship is awarded.
• Meet eligibility requirements as set forth in the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy for Financial Aid Eligibility.
• Be aware that the following may be taken into consideration during the review process:
  • Eligibility of Employee as determined by HRS or EPA‐HR Financial Need as determined by Financial Aid with FAFSA
  • Academic Standing of applicant
  • Application
  • Essay (see last page of application)

Deadline and Notification

Applications are due no later than 11:59 PM on Sunday, May 15, 2023.

The scholarship recipient will be notified in writing by the UNCG Staff Senate Professional and Personal Development Committee no later than June 15, 2023. Funds will be distributed through the University via The Office of Financial Aid and are subject to policies set forth through the Office of Financial Aid.
