The Staff Senate Scholarship is designed to support the educational goals of UNCG staff and their families. If you or a dependent, spouse, or domestic partner meet the eligibility criteria below, we encourage you to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to further your academic journey.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the scholarship:
- FAFSA Requirement
Submit a completed FAFSA to the UNCG Office of Financial Aid by May 1st.
- Employment Status
Be a permanent full-time UNCG staff member with at least one year of service in the North Carolina State System, or the dependent, spouse, or domestic partner of an eligible employee.
- Enrollment in a Degree Program
Be enrolled in a degree-seeking program at UNCG. (Visions, Visiting, Auditing, and non-degree certificate programs are not eligible.)
- Employment Continuity
Remain a permanent employee of UNCG (or the dependent, spouse, or domestic partner of an eligible employee) during the scholarship period.
- Satisfactory Academic Progress
Meet the requirements outlined in the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy for Financial Aid Eligibility.

Application Review Considerations
The selection process includes an evaluation of:
- Employee Eligibility as verified by Human Resources or EPA-HR.
- Financial Need, determined by the FAFSA.
- Academic Standing of the applicant.
- Application Quality, including responses provided.
- Essay Submission, as detailed on the final page of the application.
