Out of the Garden Volunteer Opportunity

When: February 20 from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm at Renaissance Plaza (2517 Phillips Avenue.)

This is an incredible opportunity for our U.N.C.G. staff to engage with the community and see what the Out of the Garden Project is all about. And use the 24 hours of community service leave you are allotted as a SHRA or EHRA employee.

Campus-wide Town Hall for Capital Campaign

As you may be aware, UNCG is in the silent phase of a comprehensive capital campaign launching this fall! We invite you to attend a campus wide town hall to hear more about what University
Advancement is doing, and where we are going.
When: Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

Alzheimer’s Study

Dr. Jennifer Etnier is looking for participants for an Alzheimer’s Study. The study needs 240 participants from Guilford, Forsyth, Davidson, Alamance, Randolph and Rockingham Counties.
The inclusion criteria are: individuals aged 40-65, cognitively normal, English speaking, and currently not meeting physical activity guidelines and willing to be randomly assigned to a control
condition or a 1 year physical activity intervention.

Supplies Needed for Teacher Supply Warehouse

UNCG Staff Senate is conducting the annual supply drive to benefit the Guilford Education Alliance Teacher Supply Warehouse. (More information is available in the Campus Weekly article as well.)
The Warehouse offers new and gently-used school supplies to teachers in Guilford County Schools free of charge. Donations from our campus community will help restock the shelves so teachers can visit the facility up to four times a year for items needed in their classrooms.

Most needed supplies include: copy paper, #2 pencils, pencil boxes, crayons, notebooks, colored markers, colored pencils, permanent markers, construction paper, dry erase markers, highlighters, index cards, post-it notes, 2 pocket folders, clipboards, facial tissues, scissors, Clorox wipes

Donations can be dropped off in collection bins through Friday, February 28 at:

  • Curry Building, main lobby, 2nd floor
  • School of Education Building, main lobby
  • Jackson Library, main lobby
  • Bryan School of Business & Economics, room 401-D
  • Moore Nursing Building, main lobby
  • MHRA Building, main lobby
  • 821 S. Josephine Boyd Building, receptionist area
  • Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, room 208M
  • Mossman (bin location TBD)
  • Moran Commons (main lobby near Taco Bell)
