It is that time of year again and the Angel Tree 2019 Signup Genius is LIVE!! We would love for you to sign up to purchase gifts for our wonderful Angel Tree Families to help make their holidays special. Find a particular item or items you would like to purchase, sign up and go shopping!

Once you have purchased your gift(s), contact the individuals listed below to arrange a time to drop off your donations by Friday, December 6th.

Gifts do not need to be wrapped but do need to be  tagged with Family#, gender and age.

Provost Search and Forum

It was announced last month to the campus that Provost Dunn will be transitioning from her role effective July 31, 2020. We are sad to see her go and wish her well in her future endeavors. As was announced in this Campus Weekly article, there is a scoping survey available. This is your opportunity to assist in the search for our next Provost. This survey will be open until November 25th.


Volunteer Opportunity – Toy Drive

The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers for their Toy Drive this year. The following dates are available: Monday, December 9th, 9 a.m. – Noon & 1:30 p.m. 5 p.m.; Wednesday, December 11th, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Thursday, December 12th, 9 a.m. – Noon; Friday, December 13th, 9 a.m. – Noon & 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Out of the Garden Volunteer Opportunity

When: November 21 from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Renaissance Plaza, 2517 Phillips Avenue

This is an incredible opportunity for our U.N.C.G. staff to engage with the community and see what the Out of the Garden Project is all about. And use the 24 hours of community service leave you are allotted as an SHRA or EHRA employee.

Alzheimers’ Study

Dr. Jennifer Etnier is looking for participants for an Alzheimers’ Study. The study needs 240 participants from Guilford, Forsyth, Davidson, Alamance, Randolph and Rockingham Counties. The inclusion criteria are: individuals aged 40-65, cognitively normal, English speaking, and currently not meeting physical activity guidelines and willing to be randomly assigned to a control condition or a 1 year physical activity intervention.
