Three Upcoming Volunteer Service Opportunities

1) Please sign up to volunteer with “Out of the Garden Project” to help with the Fresh Mobile Markets – Food Drops! This is an incredible opportunity for our UNCG staff to engage with the community and see what OOTGP is all about. And use the 24 hours of community service you are allotted as a SHRA or EHRA employee of UNCG!
GOOD NEWS…ALL VOLUNTEER SLOTS ARE FULL. Great job!
2) We have the opportunity to help at the new Moss Street Partnership School. Things to do for every level of ability and creativity including cleaning, moving things, setting up classrooms, creating bulletin boards, basically anything to help the school get up & running. Multiple shifts available. Transportation will be provided. For more information, contact Amber Wall (aswall@uncg.edu)

3) Volunteers are needed for Move-In Days in August. Start planning now. Volunteers will receive a safety briefing at the beginning of their shift. During that  briefing, Ben Kunka will distribute gloves, t-shirts, meal passes, box cutters, and bottled water to the volunteers. Volunteers will be able to keep the gloves and t-shirts, along with the meal pass for that day as a token of our thanks. For more information about volunteering, please contact Ben Kunka  (bakunka@uncg.edu) and for more information.

Update on Budget Initiatives

Victoria Benson and Andrew Cagle  reiterated that we still don’t know anything for certain. We expect to have guidance about the first of August regarding the base salary increases to $31,200, five bonus days and pay increases. More to come. Any increases will be retroactive to July 1st.  Whether or not the five bonus days have to be used immediately still need to be clarified.
